An international charity, based in Birmingham, is looking to recruit an experienced Assistant Accountant to contribute to the Finance team’s work, ensuring comprehensive financial control and effective decision making across a designated portfolio of divisions.
Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Accountant Role:
- Prepare budgets and forecasts in conjunction with other team members.
- Monitor budgets for assigned divisions, looking into any variances and escalating matters of concerns to other staff.
- Contribute to the monthly commentary on financial performance.
- Provide advice to divisions with respect to their financial management.
- Undertake occasional visits to divisions in order to advise on risk and offer support.
- Monitor the financial support offered to divisions and report on performance against overall organisation deliverables.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Part CIMA- or CCAB-qualified
- Experience working within a management accounting role, with a background in discussing finance issues with non-finance staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with sophisticated accounting systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused outlook, with ability to travel where required.
Salary and Details:
- c£33,500 to c£35,500 per annum.
- Permanent, full-time position.
- Hybrid of remote and office-based work.
- 25 days’ annual leave.
